Kaz Chillout GF57 Desk Fan Review

College students are about to move in to their dorms so this review is perfect timing. The Chillout GF57 Desk fan is a portable fan that would work well in a small space like an apartment or dorm room setting.

The Chillout Desk Fan is lightweight and made from mostly plastic that is easy to carry. It comes in several color variations which I chose the Blue model. Kaz made the fan easy to use as there are only 3 settings (Off, High, Low). Even though the fan is small it does provide a nice breeze of air in both high and low settings.

The Chillout fan is quiet and provides a nice cooling breeze during the summer heat. Those who don't have the benefit of air condition will welcome this personal fan. I believe this will be ideal for college students living in a dorm for the first time.

Jabra DRIVE Bluetooth In-Car Speakerphone Review

http://www.jabra.com/sites/mobile/ap-en/products/pages/jabradrive.aspx

It makes me cringe when I see someone driving around with a cell phone in their ear. In Michigan there is no law against cell phone use in vehicle and that makes the roads less safe. This is why I recommend everyone either get a Bluetooth headset or an In-car Speakerphone. I was lucky enough to try out the new Jabra DRIVE and here I will post my thoughts.

The Jabra DRIVE is slim and thin and looks like one giant clip that attaches to your dashboard. I like that the DRIVE is not very bulky and blends in nicely in the interior of my Acura RSX. In the package you will find the DRIVE, USB cable, car adapter, and manual.

The DRIVE is an easy to use In-Car Speakerphone that will appeal to everyone who is sick of the difficult to use devices. This is a Speakerphone that you won't even need to read the manual as it's simple as can be. Once you pair the device you simple click the answer/end button. In addition the volume buttons allow you to raise and lower the sound for calls and streaming music. The sound quality of the Speakerphone is solid and the added feature of echo and noise cancellation provides clear sound without the outside noise getting in the way of the conversation. The multiuse functions allow you to pair two devices at the same time like an iPod Touch and a cell phone. The talk time on this Speakerphone is ample at around 20hrs with 30 day standby.

The Jabra DRIVE is simple to use and looks to be nicely made with a metal finish. If you’re in the market for a Bluetooth In-Car Speakerphone then you can't do any better than the Jabra DRIVE. The Jabra DRIVE is the best value on the market for a quality in-Car Speakerphone with a solid brand behind it.

BlueAnt EMBRACE Wired On-Ear Headphones Review

Reviewed by K.C. Kim
$199.99
http://www.myblueant.com/products/headphones/embrace/

BlueAnt has launched their first Wired Stereo Headphones and it is the stylish EMBRACE. The EMBRACE will compete in the same segment as the Bowers & Wilkins P5, V-MODA Cross-fade LP, and Beats by Dr. Dre. The $199.99 price tag seems like a lot but is $100 cheaper than the comparable Bower & Wilkins P5 which sells for $300.

The BlueAnt EMBRACE Wired On-Ear Headphones were made for travel as they are lightweight and stylish. They pair well with your iPods, iPhone and iPads to listen to your music while still having the ability to make or receive a call. The Embrace includes an audio cable for headphone listening and also a blue cable with remote and mic for making and taking calls. The included leather style case fits the EMBRACE perfectly and will keep the headset safe when traveling. The included OMTP adapter gives you more options to connect to a range of devices that support this feature.

The EMBRACE sounds just right when it comes to sound compared to the high tuned bass of the Cross-fade LP and Beats headphones. The BlueAnt EMBRACE works well in all kinds of music genres from Rock to R&B to classical these headphones shines. The EMBRACE has a neutral balanced sound that I like compared to the overly artificial bass sound that the Beats by Dr Dre has. The headphones also do a good job of blocking out background noise so you can enjoy your music without distraction.

After trying the headphones for several weeks I would highly recommend you check out the BlueAnt EMBRACE. The BlueAnt EMBRACE sounds great and is one of the best looking headphones I have tried. The lower MSRP price tag and quality craftsmanship along with the luxurious fit and finish set the EMBRACE apart from the crowd.

ZaReason Teo Pro Netbook Review

Reviewed by K.C. Kim

http://zareason.com/shop/Teo-Pro-Netbook.html

Netbooks are great since they can do pretty much what a laptop can do. In addition Netbooks are small and compact for travel. The problem with most Netbooks is that Windows is not the best option when it comes to Netbook hardware. That's why Linux runs so much better on a compact Netbook. ZaReason has made it easy to have many different options when it comes to choice of OS.

The ZaReason Teo Pro Netbook is the latest Netbook from the company that sells Linux based laptop, desktops and servers. The specs of the Teo Pro Netbook are pretty much top of line for Netbook specs:

Features:

Glossy 10.1” WSVGA display @ 1024x600 pixels
Intel® Atom™ N450 Processor, 1.66GHz
Intel® NM10 Express chipset
Intel® GMA 3150 graphics and video module (shared system memory)
Up to 2GB DDR2 667MHz RAM
Intel HD Audio
Speakers on both sides of screen for quality sound output
Internal microphone included
10/100 LAN x 1
WLAN 11b/g/n included
3-in-1 card reader -- SD/MMC/MS supported
1.3 megapixel webcam included

Ports:

Monitor (VGA): 15 pin D-Sub x 1
Headphone and mic jacks
2 USB 2.0 ports
LAN jack (RJ45)

Specs:

Your choice of a variety of Open Source operating systems
93% of a regular keyboard for easy typing (key-to-key distance)
High capacity 6400 mAh Li-Ion battery, up to 8 hours battery life
AC Adapter: 19V DC, 40W/Input: 100-240V AC, 50/60Hz universal
Dimensions: 10.5 x 6.5 x .75 in / 26.8 x 16.5 x 1.9 cm
Weight: 2.4 lbs / 1.1 kg

While other Netbooks comes with a glossy plastic lid, the ZaReason has a much more premium brushed aluminum lid which will appeal to business types. The keyboard is almost full size and doesn't feel cramped at all. The 10.1 inch 1024x600 display is very vibrant and is great for watching movies, browsing the web and more. The CPU is 1.66Ghz along with 2GB of ram and 160GB hard drive. In addition the Teo Pro features 1.3MP webcam, card reader, 6 cell battery that lasts 8hrs, USB, Intel high definition speakers, built-in microphone, and built in wifi and Ethernet port. On the ZaReason you can customize the Teo Pro to your liking by upgrading the hard drive to an SSD or opting for a different flavor Linux OS.

The ZaReason Teo Pro comes with Ubuntu Linux 11.04 preinstalled. I found the setup to be very easy. Now I know lots of consumers think that Linux is too complicated but the entire experience is very easy once installed. The browser included is Firefox so I have no problem test driving the Internet experience. I tested out a few Hulu and Youtube and flash works great with no stutter. The Netbook also includes OpenOffice so you can do word processing on the machine. The battery life on this little netbook is fantastic and browsing the web, watching videos, and testing out OpenOffice and I still had over half the battery left over.

All in all I believe the ZaReason Teo Pro Netbook is one of the top choices for what I want in a Netbook. Ubuntu is feature rich for advance user but simple enough that anyone can navigate the Linux OS. Although I own an iPad I find the Teo Pro better suited for doing productive work. So if you’re looking for a Netbook put the ZaReason Teo Pro on the top of list.

Latte ICE Smart 8 GB Smart Media Android Tablet Review

Reviewed by K.C. Kim
http://www.lattezone.com/icesmart1.html
$249 Retail

Although this could be called a mini Tablet; it is more of a new line of Smart Media Player. The Latte ICE Smart is like an iPod Touch but with more versatility, power, and features.

The Latte ICE Smart features a 5 inch display (800 X 480, 16million colors), glossy black finish, and chrome mirror finish sides. The 800 MHz Telechip fast CPU with built-in 3D accelerator can deliver full 1080P video. The ICE Smart has 8GB of internal memory with a MicroSD Slot to add up to 32GB more. The Smart Media Player feels very much like a solid device. The ICE Smart is the perfect size to take anywhere with you in your pocket. I have found 10inch Tablets too big and 3inch Smartphone’s too small for my taste.

The Latte ICE Smart is powered by Android 2.3 which is the same OS you will find in Tablets like the Galaxy Tab, Xoom, Dell Streak and more. This allows it to run a wealth of apps specific to the Android OS. The Android OS allows you try out a ton of apps with the majority of them for free. I tested several games, emulators and various apps and the Latte ICE Smart perform very well.

The ICE Smart uses a resistive touch screen using dual touch technology. This allows the screen to register 2 fingers at one time. The screen works well with a touch of your finger or a stylus. I was surprise that it felt very much like a capacitive multi-touch screen. I played several Android games on the ICE Smart and had no problem with the screen.

You have many options for installing applications from using Google Marketplace and Amazon marketplace which are preinstalled on the device and can be installed using the built in Wifi connection. In addition you can grab an .apk file from a site like Slideme and copy the file over with the included usb cable.

Where the Latte ICE shines the most is it's advance media player functions. This player can playback 1080P video and output it to the big screen TV. The playback of high definition was flawless with no lag. I tested multiple files and the player just plays them back effortlessly. In addition the player can display all of your pictures and playback your music files.

I like options so Latte Communications offers some optional accessories that will add to the value of the ICE Smart. This includes a nice looking leather case that can protect the player as well as prop it up to watch movies, a stylus, and miniHDMI cable.

If you’re looking for a powerful media player that can do 1080P video as well as install apps then the Latte ICE Smart is right for you. The Latte ICE Smart can do a lot of the things that Tablets can do while being more pocketable. In my opinion the Latte ICE Smart beats the pants off the iPod Touch when it comes to features for an advance media player.
